Sparking JOY! Full-day Workshop
Sparking JOY! Full-day Workshop
You've heard it said: "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful." Saturday, January 20th, we will explore what Sparking JOY! means:
- What is it to be the object of delight?
- What do peace and joy have in common?
- How can we cultivate a life of joy in ourselves and others?
Enjoy an opportunity to capture the words and images that define your day. Since process is the most important part of the journey, no experience is necessary. You will receive as much or as little assistance as you'd like.
If you prefer, bring your own supplies and apply the same exercises to your creative medium.
How the day lays out: Come a little early for to get settled, grab coffee and a light breakfast. Then we will move into group teaching time, discussion, and some exercises designed to spark joy in your soul. After lunch, we've reserved creative space for artist Christa MacFarlane to help you capture your unique and soul-full learning. Spark. Fire. Be joy inspired!
Project Medium: Using a relief printing process (similar to Linocut), you will learn how to carve into a rubber plate and transfer that image onto paper with layers of acrylic paint. It's fun, easy and will connect with the soul-full meaning, texture and beauty of the day.
Facilitators: Kristi Johnson, Christa MacFarlane, Jim Wilder, and Amy Pierson
Cost: $125*
Time: 9am-3pm (come a bit early to grab some coffee and get situated)
Location: Converge Denver, 3327 Brighton Blvd., RiNo Arts District, 80216.
